Code 2200
Category: Media serverMessage shown in BigBlueButton
Media server failed to process request (error 2200)
What it means
The media server failed to process the request (generic media error, e.g. SDP creation/configuration).
Likely causes
- Server-side media configuration problem
What to do
First, check who is affected.
- Only one or a few users: most likely a problem on the user's side, so follow the Student and Teacher steps.
- Everyone in one room: check that room/meeting (settings, meeting ended or recreated, room limits).
- Everyone in every room: most likely a server problem, so go to the Admin/server steps.
Students
Try another network (for example a mobile hotspot) to check whether your current network blocks the connection.
Teachers
Tell participants it is a server-side problem they cannot fix themselves, and contact your admin.
Server admins
Run sudo bbb-conf --clean, then sudo bbb-conf --watch while reproducing the error to see log errors live. Check that mediasoup's announced IP(s) match the server's public IPv4/IPv6. Collect logs with sudo bbb-conf --zip and ask on the bigbluebutton-setup group if the cause is unclear.
