Code 1101
Category: Screen shareMessage shown in BigBlueButton
Code {errorCode}. Try sharing the screen again.
What it means
Screen sharing lost its signalling WebSocket to the media server (bbb-webrtc-sfu), for the presenter or a viewer.
Likely causes
- Brief network drop
- Tab backgrounded
- WebSocket proxy timeout
What to do
First, check who is affected.
- Only one or a few users: most likely a problem on the user's side, so follow the Student and Teacher steps.
- Everyone in one room: check that room/meeting (settings, meeting ended or recreated, room limits).
- Everyone in every room: most likely a server problem, so go to the Admin/server steps.
Students
Keep the meeting tab focused and try sharing again. Click Share screen again. Try another network (for example a mobile hotspot) to check whether your current network blocks the connection.
Teachers
Pause screen share and restart; ask IT if disconnects are frequent.
Server admins
Increase proxy read timeouts for WSS to bbb-webrtc-sfu. Check that nginx runs and its config is valid (sudo nginx -t, /var/log/nginx/error.log). Run sudo bbb-conf --clean, then sudo bbb-conf --watch while reproducing the error to see log errors live.
