Code 1005
Category: AudioMessage shown in BigBlueButton
Call ended unexpectedly (error 1005)
What it means
The audio call ended unexpectedly, or (SFU bridge) the audio peer connection could not be negotiated.
Likely causes
- Peer negotiation failed (SDP)
- Transient client or media-server error
What to do
First, check who is affected.
- Only one or a few users: most likely a problem on the user's side, so follow the Student and Teacher steps.
- Everyone in one room: check that room/meeting (settings, meeting ended or recreated, room limits).
- Everyone in every room: most likely a server problem, so go to the Admin/server steps.
Students
Leave the audio and join it again; the client retries some audio errors automatically. Update your browser to a supported version: Chrome 87+, Firefox 80+, Edge 85+ or Safari 14+.
Teachers
Ask affected participants to leave and rejoin the audio: the client treats this error as retryable.
Server admins
Run sudo bbb-conf --check and fix the problems it reports. Run sudo bbb-conf --clean, then sudo bbb-conf --watch while reproducing the error to see log errors live. Collect logs with sudo bbb-conf --zip and ask on the bigbluebutton-setup group if the cause is unclear.
