Code 3005
Category: ConnectionMessage shown in BigBlueButton
Data is loading slowly. Reconnection in progress (code 3005)
What it means
Data arrives but the server's ping (Hasura keep-alive) is missing, so live data may load slowly.
Shown only if enabled: add this code to public.app.showConnectionErrors in /etc/bigbluebutton/bbb-html5.yml (by default only 3002 and 3004 are shown).
Likely causes
- GraphQL server (Hasura) slow or overloaded
- Network delay
What to do
First, check who is affected.
- Only one or a few users: most likely a problem on the user's side, so follow the Student and Teacher steps.
- Everyone in one room: check that room/meeting (settings, meeting ended or recreated, room limits).
- Everyone in every room: most likely a server problem, so go to the Admin/server steps.
Students
Wait a few seconds: the client reconnects automatically. Only reload if the message stays. Check your internet connection (Wi‑Fi signal or cable) before rejoining.
Teachers
Pause for a moment: the client is reconnecting on its own.
Server admins
Check the GraphQL components (bbb-graphql-server/Hasura and bbb-graphql-middleware) and their override files in /etc/bigbluebutton/. Run sudo bbb-conf --clean, then sudo bbb-conf --watch while reproducing the error to see log errors live. Know that public.app.showConnectionErrors (override in /etc/bigbluebutton/bbb-html5.yml) decides which 300x codes users see; the default shows only 3002 and 3004.
