Media server requests are timing out (error 2003)

What it means

Requests to the media server timed out.

Likely causes

High load on the media server
Latency between bbb-webrtc-sfu and its media server (mediasoup, Kurento or FreeSWITCH)

What to do

This error comes from the server or API, so go straight to the server checks.

Students

Rejoin once; avoid starting camera and screen share simultaneously.

Teachers

Stagger webcam on for large groups. Tell participants it is a server-side problem they cannot fix themselves, and contact your admin.

Server admins

Check load and logs of bbb-webrtc-sfu and the media server (mediasoup/FreeSWITCH); scale media capacity. If mediasoup workers are saturated, tune mediasoup.workers / dedicatedMediaTypeWorkers or add capacity.
