Message shown in BigBlueButton

What it means

A FreeSWITCH (ESL) command from bbb-webrtc-sfu failed. The client labels it MEDIA_NOT_FLOWING, but that is not what the server means.

Server-side 2211 is MEDIA_ESL_COMMAND_ERROR (FreeSWITCH ESL); MEDIA_NOT_FLOWING is never thrown with this code.

This error comes from the server or API, so go straight to the server checks.

Students

Try another network (for example a mobile hotspot) to check whether your current network blocks the connection.

Teachers

Tell participants it is a server-side problem they cannot fix themselves, and contact your admin.

Server admins

Run sudo bbb-conf --check and fix the problems it reports. Restart BigBlueButton with sudo bbb-conf --restart, then run sudo bbb-conf --check. Run sudo bbb-conf --clean, then sudo bbb-conf --watch while reproducing the error to see log errors live.
