Code 2002
Category: Media serverMessage shown in BigBlueButton
Media server has no available resources (error 2002)
What it means
Media server has no capacity for new streams.
Likely causes
- Configured media limits (mediaThresholds: global, per room or per user) reached
- Media backend reports not enough resources
What to do
This error comes from the server or API, so go straight to the server checks.
Students
Turn off webcam unless needed.
Teachers
Limit cameras and use breakout rooms. Ask participants to turn off webcams they do not need: the server refuses new media once its configured limit is reached.
Server admins
Check and raise mediaThresholds in the bbb-webrtc-sfu config (0 = unlimited), or add media capacity; limit simultaneous webcams. If mediasoup workers are saturated, tune mediasoup.workers / dedicatedMediaTypeWorkers or add capacity.
